Deputy leader to take over brief from Lisa Nandy as Keir Starmer makes long-awaited changes to top team
Angela Rayner will become deputy prime minister if Labour wins the next election and take on the levelling up brief, after Keir Starmer conducted his long-awaited shadow cabinet reshuffle.
The move will be seen as a promotion for Labour’s deputy leader, elected by party members, as Starmer gets his top team in place before the next general election.
