Bristol chapel built in the 13th century will reopen to the public

Lord Mayor’s Chapel, sold off during Henry VIII’s dissolution of the monasteries, has been described as a ‘hidden gem’

A medieval chapel in the centre of Bristol that was sold off at the time of the dissolution of the monasteries by Henry VIII has been taken back into the care of the city’s cathedral and is set to reopen to the public.

Including features such as a fan vaulted ceiling and an ornate Spanish tiled floor, the Lord Mayor’s chapel is described as a “hidden gem” by Bristol Cathedral.
