A Wild and Winning Year

If there was a theme to 2022, for my money it'd be strong, steady lefty leadership. From President Biden to Nancy Pelosi to Chuck Schumer to Volodymyr Zelenskyy (whose name I can now spell without getting a red squiggly under it) to Maine Governor Janet Mills and our Democratic legislature, the contrast with the evil aims of the fascist knuckleheads couldn’t have been more stark. When smart, competent leaders who want government to work for everyone are in charge, things are just…better.

Throughout the year, you embraced that leadership in C&J's Friday night "Who won the week" polls. Week after week, we laid ten worthy candidates who made history in ways big and small at your big and small feet, and you chose the history-makingest of them all. This morning, instead of ruining the post-holiday glow by tossing the usual word salad, we're closing out our last columns of 2022 with a reminder of the ass that was kicked over the last 52 weeks. It's impressive.
