CND Campaigns Assistant

1 month ago 26

As the world becomes an ever more dangerous place with nuclear threats escalating, the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) fights for a peaceful, sustainable world, free of nuclear weapons.

We’re looking for a campaigns assistant to be a part of our team and help us with our essential work. The work will be particularly focused around a day of action called to protest US nuclear weapons returning to Britain.

Type of work involved
While we may ask you to do other things depending on the needs of the campaign, the work would typically involve:

1. Assisting with CND’s participation at demonstrations, events, and actions
2. Supporting CND’s youth and student work
3. Researching information for CND’s website, briefings, and news items
4. Drafting social media posts
5. Supporting work in preparation for CND’s general election campaign

Who we’re looking for
We think this role would be a great fit for someone who is committed to the aims and objectives of CND, has good knowledge and interest in CND’s campaign areas, can work on their own initiative and as part of a team, has good computer skills, is attentive to detail, and is well-organised.

Hours of work and pay
The position is for 14 hours a week for a period of three months to start as soon as possible. The position is paid at £14 an hour.

CND operates a hybrid working model with the possibility to work from home one day a week, but the position requires one day a week minimum working from the CND office in London. There will also be occasional events and meetings outside normal working hours.

To apply
Please email kate.hudson@cnduk.org, telling us about yourself and your skills, and why you would like to volunteer for CND (maximum one side of A4). The deadline for applications is April 1st.

Please feel free to get in touch in advance if you have any queries – either by emailing kate.hudson@cnduk.org or phoning 07891 870732.
