Iran imposed a ten-day lockdown across most of the country on Saturday to curb the spread of its fourth wave of the coronavirus pandemic, state media reported.

The new lockdown will affect 23 of the country’s 31 provinces, with businesses, schools, theatres and sports facilities forced to shut and gathering banned during the Muslim holy month Ramadan, which is set to begin on Wednesday.
