Typhoon Mawar, packed with heavy rainfall and strong winds, approached the northern provinces in the Philippines prompting evacuation of hundreds of villagers living in areas at risk flooding or landslides. As typhoons get more frequent, more intense and more unpredictable, the climate crisis has become a new normal in the Philippines — along with the fear and anxiety that comes with it.
