In July 2025, Friends of the Earth Palestine/PENGON addressed the European Parliament to expose Israel’s systematic destruction of water infrastructure in Gaza and the ongoing theft of Palestinian natural resources. Speaking on behalf of PENGON, Rasha Abu Dayyeh delivered an intervention highlighting how Israeli settler-colonial policies have weaponized water, deepened the humanitarian crisis, and violated fundamental rights of the Palestinian people. We called on the European Union to:
- Suspend the EU-Israel Association Agreement
- End trade and cooperation with complicit companies
- Impose a full arms embargo on Israel
- Uphold international law and ensure accountability
Environmental justice is inseparable from justice for Palestine. Water is not a privilege—it is a right.
