The Times Graphics team is looking for a creative and versatile 3-D specialist who can build, animate, style and render models for breaking news, enterprise and investigative projects.
3-D modeling has been the foundation of many high-profile visual stories in recent years, including:
- A reconstruction of what the Tulsa massacre destroyed.
- A detailed demonstration of the effectiveness of masks at a microscopic level.
- An investigation into the causes of a Miami building collapse.
- A spatial investigation into a deadly fire in the Bronx.
- A 3-D tour of where classified documents were stored at Mar-a-Lago,
- A forensic analysis of an apartment building collapse in the Turkey earthquakes.
Working closely with fellow members of the Graphics team and reporters across the newsroom, you will play an important role in helping shape visual reconstructions and investigations, and stories that rely on spatial analysis or provide immersive experiences for readers.
Attention to detail and precision are essential for this job. A background in news graphics, engineering, architecture or forensic reconstruction is preferred.
