Solidarietà a Trade Unionists for Palestine contro la repressione
Il Si Cobas esprime la massima solidarietà ai compagni australiani di Trade Unionists for Palestine per la brutale repressione dei picchetti ai porti di Melbourne e Sidney contro il passaggio delle navi israeliane ZIM.
Lo scorso fine settimana le forze dell’ordine hanno attaccato con lacrimogeni, granate stordenti e proiettili di gomma i manifestanti che si erano dati appuntamento per bloccare le operazioni di carico e scarico delle navi container ZIM, compagnia israeliana oggetto di boicottaggio in tutto il mondo per il suo ruolo strategico nel supporto logistico e militare all’operazione militare genocida contro il popolo palestinese.
Sono 20 i compagni arrestati nelle cariche, tra cui il segretario e diversi delegati di Maritime Union of Australia (sindacato dei lavoratori portuali e marittimi) e membri del sindacato NSW (infermieri e ostetriche), da mesi in prima fila nelle mobilitazioni contro il supporto del governo australiano ad Israele.
Anche se stiamo ricevendo notizie di diversi compagni che stanno venendo rilasciati e liberati, va tenuta alta l’attenzione visto che i primi di maggio si svolgerà la prima udienza del processo e le accuse prevedono pene molto alte, aumentate recentemente da leggi speciali che hanno inasprito le condanne per blocco
stradale proprio come avvenuto qui in Italia.
La notizia di sindacalisti picchiati e arrestati in Australia arriva a pochi giorni dalle nuove denunce, perquisizioni e sequestri dei telefoni ad alcuni coordinatori della nostra organizzazione sindacale proprio per i picchetti di lotta e si inserisce nello stesso contesto di ‘mobilitazione generale’ per la guerra che tutti i governi imperialisti, in particolare in Europa, preparano e propagandano.
La battaglia dei lavoratori e delle lavoratrici australiane è la nostra battaglia perché solo i proletari, con la mobilitazione e l’organizzazione, possono combattere la tendenza generale alla mobilitazione bellica che vede repressione e spese militari aumentare di pari passo in tutti i paesi del mondo.
Non solo in Italia e in Australia ma in molti altri paesi del mondo i blocchi ai varchi portuali in occasione del passaggio delle navi ZIM, i picchetti ai cancelli delle fabbriche di armi e la partecipazione operaia alla mobilitazione in solidarietà al popolo palestinese, indicano la via da intraprendere, non solo contro genocidio e pulizia etnica in Palestina, ma contro tutte le guerre del capitale che stanno massacrando centinaia di migliaia di esseri umani dall’Ucraina al Sudan al Congo, mentre nubi di tempesta si addensano anche sul versante del Pacifico, nella contesa per il dominio mondiale tra le vecchie potenze in declino e le nuove in ascesa.
Queste azioni e questi percorsi di lotta saranno capaci di incidere veramente solo se inizieranno a coordinarsi su un piano veramente internazionale, facendo crescere un “campo” proletario, anticapitalista e internazionalista, una strada che abbiamo iniziato a percorrere il 24 febbraio con una prima giornata di mobilitazione internazionale coordinata insieme a numerose organizzazioni (dagli USA al Giappone, dall’Argentina alla Turchia, dalla Germania all’India) e che abbiamo intenzione di portare avanti anche per dare una risposta alla repressione avvenuta in questi giorni.
In tutti i paesi del mondo, se toccano uno toccano tutti!

Solidarity with Trade Unionists for Palestine against repression
Si Cobas expresses its utmost solidarity with its Australian comrades of Trade Unionists for Palestine over the brutal repression of pickets at the ports of Melbourne and Sydney against the passage of the Israeli ZIM
ships.
Last weekend, security forces attacked with tear gas, stun grenades and rubber bullets protesters who had gathered to block the loading and unloading of ZIM container ships, an Israeli company boycotted worldwide for its strategic role in logistical and military support to the genocidal military operation against
the Palestinian people.
A total of 20 comrades were arrested in the charges, including the secretary and several delegates of Maritime Union of Australia (union of port and maritime workers) and members of the NSW union (nurses and midwives), which has been in the forefront of mobilisations against the Australian government’s support to Israel for months.
Although we are receiving news of several comrades being released, attention must be kept high as the first hearing of the trial will take place in early May and the charges carry very high penalties, recently increased by special laws that have toughened sentences for roadblocking just as happened here in Italy.
The news of trade unionists being beaten and arrested in Australia comes just a few days after new charges, searches and seizures of the phones of some coordinators of our trade union organisation precisely for picketing and roadblocks, and is part of the same context of ‘general mobilisation’ for war that all imperialist governments, particularly in Europe, are preparing and campaigning for.
The battle of the Australian working men and women is our battle because only proletarians, through mobilisation and organisation, can fight the general trend of war mobilisation that sees repression and military spending increasing across the world.
Not only in Italy and Australia, but in many other countries around the world, the blockades at port gates as ZIM ships dock, the pickets at the gates of arms factories and workers’ participation in the mobilisation in solidarity with the Palestinian people, show the way forward, not only against genocide and ethnic cleansing in Palestine, but against all the wars of capital that are massacring hundreds of thousands of human beings from Ukraine to Sudan to the Congo, while storm clouds are also gathering on the Pacific side, in the contest for world domination between the declining old powers and the rising new ones.
These actions and these paths of struggle will only be able to make a real impact if they begin to be coordinated on a truly international level, making a proletarian, anti-capitalist and internationalist ‘camp’ grow – a path that we began to follow on 24 February with an initial day of international mobilisation coordinated together with numerous organisations (from the USA to Japan, from Argentina to Turkey, from Germany to India) and that we intend to pursue also in response to the repression that has taken place in recent days.
In all countries of the world, an injury to one is an injury to all!
Forward with the proletarian opposition to imperialist wars!
