An independent movie written and produced by Massimo Greco and Toni Corino. Made in 1994, set in the metropolitan Turin of a disturbing Europe of the future and inspired by the docu-fiction "Europe on the Brink - The War With America" by the BBC and was presented at the 1995 edition of "Anteprima Spazio Torino" and screened in two evenings during the Turin Film Festival of the time and also reviewed by TG3 on the occasion of the inauguration at the Cinema Massimo in Turin.
The speaker and moderator of the event will be the writer and historian: Maria Franzè.

In memory of Gabriele La Porta – Journalist and television author who passed away in 2019, host of the RAItre television Talkshow, "Parlato Semplice": during some episodes where the authors participated, in 1994, made the contacts possible that allowed the making of the film. Intervention expected by his son Michele – Today manager of a press, promotion and communication agency.
Prof. Francesco Fistetti (Professor of History of Philosophy at the Department of Humanistic Studies of the University of Bari. He directs the «Humanities» series at the ‘Pensa Multimedia’ publishing house (Lecce/Brescia) and the «L'intreccio» series at the publisher D'Anna (Florence). He is co-director of the magazine “Post-filosofie” (www.postfilosofie.it), and is part of the scientific committee of the “Revue du M.A.U.S.S”.
Presentation and debate that will introduce and conclude the event concerning the Film will not be a succession of cold self-referential demonstrations. The event is essentially aimed at students, teachers, trainers, reading and history enthusiasts and those who love in-depth analysis and originality in communication.
How a real movie was made starting literally from scratch, involving many people, using means (ambulances, uniforms, laboratories, offices, even planes, very respectable locations) without paying anything and without enjoying any "support" or financing?
The narrative of an adventure was then set in the context of an imaginable but not entirely certain future. What actually came true in the 30 (years) that followed?
Essential info and short synopsis:
All the participating actors, up to the extras, "recruited" mainly through advertisements on the university noticeboards, gave their participation free of charge and in signed adhesion to the contents proposed by the film made in a period in which the internet was just in its infancy and There was no subway in Turin...
Filming and editing were carried out practically at zero cost and with very simple equipment. Despite this he managed to make use of structures and sought-after locations not only in Turin but also in Paris, Prague and Brazil.
Fifteen years after the first editing on U-Matic magnetic supports (as well as the original footage), there were already evident signs of deterioration and therefore we proceeded with digitization and, a few years later, with a cartoonized version with the available utilities, better to say "accessible", between 2016 and 2017.
The rights have remained 'reserved' only to prevent speculative or 'market' uses, the authors, in fact, have always promoted their free and free diffusion, today even more possible through internet.
The adventure of an organization of air pirates who, in a hypothetical, at the time, situation of serious international conflicts (many later also occurred at the European level) managed to interfere in satellite communications.
10.04pm of a day to come: Television news from all over the world announces the worsening of the crisis between Europeans and Americans. It is no longer a question of "diversity of views" or "simple" but "apparent" commercial rivalries... but a direct conflict for the dominion of the markets and fossil resources of the Arctic.
After a prelude phase of trade wars, we are one step away from military confrontation: the borders are closing. The world is immediately divided into opposing embargo areas. The United States of Europe no longer tolerates the American military presence in the Mediterranean and the Arctic. The Confederation of North America does not intend to give up its interests, the crisis throws Europe to the brink of the abyss while rulers and politicians lead the regression of national selfishness by addressing the populations in the name of "sovereignty" and the defense of national security. But someone decides to interfere. This is an international organization of activists who interrupt news broadcasts in various languages to provide different versions of the media narrative. Europol begins a manhunt while social tensions are becoming increasingly stronger throughout Europe, even at a corporate level. When one of the "leaders" is identified and then captured, the "Federals" intervene following the removal of whoever was leading the investigation. Toni's companions who were about to escape from Europe, after the acts of piracy, have to postpone their escape plans and try to organize his release.

Dialogues of the movie are in Italian, subtitled in some parts when communications are in English, French, Portuguese.
In 1994 the Internet was in its infancy, inaccessible and not even imaginable in the dimension to which it subsequently evolved. Video calls or video telephony were a privilege reserved for a few or for state authorities. The media system exercised its immanence in an analogue way but only a few years later the technologies that connected the network to the satellite system spread. Think, today, of Elon Musk's Starlink system and the role it played in the war in Ukraine (but not only) about 30 years later.
Trade wars between the USA and Europe were already a fact in Reagan's time, they have reached impressive levels in the Trump era.
