Sam Kerr charged with alleged racially aggravated harassment of London police officer after taxi dispute

Kerr is reported to have denied the charge which police said related to an incident involving a police officer responding to a complaint about a taxi fare

Sam Kerr, captain of Australia’s women’s soccer team, is to face trial in England accused of the racially aggravated harassment of a police officer.

The Western-Australian-born Kerr, who plays for Chelsea in London, appeared in court in the British capital on Monday accused of using insulting, threatening or abusive words that caused alarm or distress to PC Lovell during an incident in Twickenham on January 30.
