A tropical disturbance caused power outages and severe weather in the Caribbean, affecting Jamaica, Haiti, and other regions. The disturbance, which was initially thought to become a tropical cyclone, is now unlikely to do so. However, heavy rains continue to pose a danger, with up to 16 inches of rain expected in some areas. Authorities have reported two deaths in Haiti due to flooding. The disturbance is expected to move across Cuba, the Bahamas, and the Turks and Caicos Islands.
